Hello there!

I'm so glad you are here! If you didn't already know, I am Bailey Elizabeth of Opal & Onyx Photography -- a native Texan with a passion for beautiful, authentic imagery and the modern free spirit. I am also the owner of HKYN Jewelry Company, an inspirational handcrafted initial jewelry business. I am hoping to update this blog regularly and provide a wider range of photos to view with a little backstory for you all to read and enjoy.

Art is an important aspect of my daily life, so when the opportunity to do a photoshoot with Kelsey Rose (@kels_killa on Instagram) presented itself, I had to say yes! Kelsey is a fiercely vibrant soul with striking features, gorgeous hair and some incredible tattoos from artist Sheldon Ross. She was a pleasure to work with and kept it interesting every step of the way.

It was a bright, windy day so I wanted to play around with a variety of lighting and locations. I used my Canon Mark IV (also known as Mr. Darcy), a 50mm/1.2 lens and my sturdy 24-70mm/2.8 lens. I usually lean towards light and airy photographs, therefore trying to emulate a moody atmosphere was a fun challenge and something new.
